Sea Monkeys
Sea Monkeys - a favourite since 1960, when the inventor and nature-lover Harold von Braunhut came up with the idea of marketing the little critters as a 'biological novelty''. Although the fascinating drawings on the product packaging and advertising material bear little resemblence to the actual tiny beasties, 'it is rumoured that they really do look like the cartoon and telepathically mask their appearance.' - so the home website states.... What are they really? Brine Shrimp - but a unique hybrid version that can live for several years, allowing the whole life cycle to be studied. The eggs that come with the tank live in a state of 'suspended animation' until activated witiin their tank home - then you can watch to see if the 'telepathic mask' slips! Container is 14cm H x 11cm W x 5cm.
